1,400 Kilometres by Kayak
World First expedition by an Adaptive Team
Raised over £110,000 for charity
In July 2022, the Kayak 4 Heroes team completed their iconic ‘World First’ expedition by becoming the first adaptive team (containing individuals with injuries/disabilities) to kayak from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’ Groats in Scotland. The team faced an incredibly testing journey of over 1,400 kilometres – across some of the toughest coastal waters in Europe.
Setting off from Land’s End on the 19th June 2021, the team worked together to overcome their respective injuries and disabilities to successfully complete their iconic record-breaking challenge in just 26 days!
Beyond the gruelling physical challenge itself, the team managed to raise an amazing £110,000 for a charity close to their hearts – the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST). In addition, it was the ambition of the team that their expedition would help inspire the next generation of adaptive adventures from across the UK.
